Your first visit

Your first mobile grooming appointment

A first appointment starts with a few useful details about your dog and where the studio will be visiting. Here is what to have ready, what the booking form asks for and what to check before you confirm.

Anam Cú Updated

Start with your area

Choose your town before looking for an appointment. Anam Cú serves north Kerry and West Limerick, with some locations arranged directly with Jessica around route days. If you are outside a listed town, ask about your Eircode before choosing a different area in the form.

A nearby town name is useful context, but your own Eircode and access details are what help identify the place the van needs to reach.

Describe the dog you have today

The form asks for your dog’s name, breed or mix, size and coat condition. Use the size band that fits your dog, and describe the coat as it is now. A recent haircut, a longer coat or knots you have noticed are more useful than a breed name alone.

Share the last groom date if you know it. If you are unsure which service fits, contact Jessica before paying rather than guessing from the service name.

Put the useful details in one place

Add a phone number and email address you can check on the day. The notes field is a useful place for practical information; discuss anything that needs a longer conversation directly with Jessica.

  • The correct Eircode, a gate or entrance description and any parking restrictions.
  • Coat problems, sore spots, allergies or health information Jessica should know about.
  • How your dog has found grooming or handling before, including anything they find difficult.

Check the appointment before paying

Review the service, date, time and amount due on the booking summary. A first visit may include assessment time as well as the planned groom. Use the details shown for your appointment, since the time required can differ between services and dogs.

Signing in verifies your email address. It is a separate step from confirming a booking. Keep the booking confirmation so you can find the appointment details again.

Before the studio arrives

Give your dog an opportunity for a toilet break beforehand and keep the agreed access clear. Let Jessica know if your dog’s condition or the access arrangements have changed since you booked.

The first conversation is a chance to explain what you would like and what your dog is comfortable with. A clear description helps Jessica discuss the visit with you before the groom begins.
