Anam Cú.
The soul hound.
In Irish, anam is soul and cú is hound. A quiet echo of anam cara, the soul friend who keeps you calm and knows you well. That is the bond we mean: the trust between a dog and the person who cares for them. We try to be worth it.
Anam Cú began with a simple wish to do this differently. Time spent around dogs kept turning up the same thing: good dogs made anxious by busy salons, the crates, the noise, the hours spent waiting away from home.
So Jessica built the opposite. One dog at a time. No queue. The groom brought to the door, on home ground, at the dog's pace. A small studio with warm water and gentle hands, fitted out by hand and based in Knocknagoshel, on the Kerry-Limerick border, grooming across north Kerry and West Limerick, with the time to do it properly.
If a coat is badly matted, the kind thing is a fresh short clip, not hours of painful de-matting for a bigger bill. We won't put a dog through that, and we'll always tell you what is fair for the dog before what is profitable for us.
