Choosing a service

A bath, a tidy or a full groom?

Start with the work your dog needs. A bath, a small tidy and a full haircut are different appointments, with different time set aside for each. The service descriptions below make the distinction clear.

Anam Cú Updated

Begin with the result you want

For a wash, dry and brush-out, look at the Bath Ritual. For a face, feet and hygiene tidy without a bath or full-body haircut, look at the Tidy. For a bath and a full clip or scissor finish, look at the Full Groom.

These are the inclusions in Anam Cú’s service catalogue. Service names can mean different things at different groomers, so compare the actual work included rather than the name alone.

The Bath Ritual

Warm bath, thorough brush-out, careful dry, nails and ears.

The Tidy

Face, feet and hygiene tidied, nails trimmed, ears checked.

The Full Groom

Bath, brush, full clip or scissor finish, hygiene, nails, ears.

Size is only part of the picture

Give the size band that fits your dog and describe their current coat. A breed or mix tells only part of the story. Include the length you would like to keep, when the coat was last groomed and any knots you have noticed.

Anam Cú’s Full Groom information asks for a coat check for doodle coats, extra-large dogs and heavy coats. If that applies to your dog, ask Jessica about the appointment before selecting a standard option.

Some visits need a different conversation

The First Ritual is a puppy introduction rather than a full groom. Hand-stripping is a separate service for suitable coats, with suitability discussed before the work begins. Neither should be chosen simply as an alternative price for a standard haircut.

If handling, noise or a previous grooming experience is a concern, describe it when you enquire. That gives Jessica the information to discuss what is appropriate for the visit.

Check the current price and time

The services page sets out the current options. The booking summary shows the selected appointment and amount due before payment. Check both the service and your dog’s details when reviewing it.

There is no single return interval in this guide. The coat, the chosen length and care between visits can change the plan. Ask Jessica to discuss the next appointment with you for your own dog.
